Guidelines and Code of Ethical Conduct

Respect Your Community

Imagine that your loved ones will see your content—we ask that you post and comment accordingly. Take pride in what you are contributing, because you are part of what we are creating. It’s up to you to set the tone for what this is all about. We trust you to be responsible, and millions of users respect that trust. This site is all about you and what you care about—let’s take good care of it. In order to make this site work for all of us, these are the things that you can’t do on here:
  1. No content that uses non-original background music when the content is not a music review.
  2. No content that is not genuine—no flogging. Tell the truth—this is about promoting your passions—be passionate not fake.
  3. No bashing of products, companies, and people—don’t be mean—be real. If you don’t like something—intelligently and factually state your case so that others can appreciate your point of view and understand how you came to feel that way.
  4. Don't post content showing dangerous acts—we don’t want to see you getting hurt—we like you without new scars and stitches.
  5. Don’t post content of illegal acts, like animal abuse, drug abuse, or bomb making—you know better.
  6. If you’re not 21 or older, don’t post content about alcohol.
  7. No violence—be nice.
  8. Respect the copyrights of others. Only upload content that you made or that you have obtained the rights to use. This means don't upload content you didn't make, or use content that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs, or content made by other users, without their permission—don’t steal.
  9. No predatory behavior, stalking, threats, harassment, invading privacy, or revealing other members' personal information—keep it safe.
  10. No hate speech—slurs or the malicious use of stereotypes intended to attack or demean a particular gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or nationality—this site is for everyone.
These rules are for all of us, and they are in place to make this a good place to visit and discuss your passions. Not following the rules may result in no one wanting to watch your content, the removal of that content, a warning notification, or we may terminate your account and delete of all your content forever. We will decide whether we believe your violation should result in termination of your account. If your account is terminated, you will not be allowed to ever sign up for another account—the community is that important to us. OK—the tough talk is out of the way. Here’s what you should do to make this a fun, informative, and rewarding experience:
  1. Tell the truth—post honest opinions, both positive and negative, about the things you care about and that you want others to know about.
  2. Tell your friends and family and get them involved.
  3. Be specific in both your praise and your criticism. People are watching, because they are interested in what you have to say—be sure to tell them something valuable so they can make good decisions. A well though out and intelligently presented case is the best way to share your feelings with others.
  4. Mention the product, service, or whatever you feel strongly about, by name—show us what it looks like if you can. If at all possible, show us the product in action. This helps everyone make a connection to you and your content.
  5. Talk as long as you need to—be thorough.
  6. Remember—it’s about quality not quantity—if you run out of ideas about things to talk about—we’ll have plenty of contests to inspire you to create more great content.
  7. Let folks know what you think. Feedback's part of the experience, and when done with respect, it can be a great way to connect with people, positively influence them, and enhance the experience for everyone. Leave comments, rate the content, make your own responses to content that affected you, and enter the contests that interest you—there's a lot going on and a lot of ways to participate here.
  8. Let us know if something is wrong. If you see content that doesn’t meet our standards, flag it, and we’ll review it—this is your site, and we want to help you make it great.
  9. Let us know if we forgot to build something that you really want. We can’t think of everything, but as a community we can do better.
